The kingfisher is actually sitting on a rusted old boat on the edge of a creek running through very flat dry boring countryside so I had to create a landscape. They like being near water even though they don't drink much.
I used Anna's Barren Sunrise palette for this and added in a few stains and elements like the bark which came from AP Kinsfolk.
