Process...
The return of ArtsyKardz! I am partial to the 6x6 versions. Always looking for a new way to make an old photo look better or more interesting. This was a group photo of my aunt's (center) birthday. Lots of people, dark photo, heavy shadows. I opened a new 12x12 document and pulled both 6x6 .psd files for ArtsyKardz Sashay over the background layer. I made a quick 10 copies of the photo and linked them together. Then, I just started clipping the photo to the individual artsy kardz layers to see what happened. I got some fun colors (which were exactly what I wanted for lift purposes). After I was done, I created a composite image (CTRL+ALT+Shift+e). I grouped all the previous layers and turned them off, leaving only the composite and the background layer. I did not want a square image, so I took ALL of the new thin strip masks and placed them on the page. I created 8 copies of the composite and clipped it to the various strip masks. I changed the blending modes on the masks to, again, see what would happen. When the basic shape of the new image was done, I added splatters, stains, some additional brushes (especially around the edges so I'd end up with 3 dark areas at the corners), the flower, stitching and journaling, and it was done. The date was done with my new favorite typewriter font Carbon Type, which you can download from dafont for free.

Thanks for looking!
