Process

The background for the photograph was constructed by layering blocks of brushes in complementary colours

Brushes can be used layered on top of each other with varying opacity, this is a good way of colour mixing.

Reflection Word Mix was prepared by clipping a coloured brush to it, the variation in the brush added to the textured look.

Brushes in another colour can be used as a framing technique.

Stamping. then clipping a transfer to a brush like the dots in the layout can give a variegated, textured look.

I used brushes also to edge the canvas to give interest and create less of a flat look.

The use of script brushes adds interest especially for heritage layouts. They can be duplicated, recoloured and a blending mode applied.
