The Button Jar/chall 5

As little girls my sister and I would spend many hours playing with my Grandma's medley of unique buttons. They absolutely fascinated us. As we held them in our hands she would tell us of the adventure each had taken before ending up in the Button Jar. There were discarded buttons from Sunday Bests to military buttons unstitched from uniforms my uncles had worn in the war. There were glass buttons, brass buttons, lace buttons and buttons in the guise of roses and angels. My button jar was rarely used. My daughters don't have button jars--it is passe. But memories still abound in the Button Jar that belonged to Grandma.

Oh I love your memories about the buttons and their adventures. Your grandma was special to instill stories in the buttons. This is just beautiful Helene. For years I had a button tin, but finally let it go.

love your story behind the buttons. My grandmother too has a lot of buttons. Seems to be a granny thing. Thanks for this great page

Wow! First, I love the journaling. Buttons with stories! Really genius way of preserving memories. I also love the photo. You and your sister? My mother used to dress me and my sister alike. Finally, I think your blending and color palette are beautiful.
