Text:
Shaped like a huge coliseum, the amphitheater is over 2,000 ft. deep and over 3 miles in diameter and the elevation 10,350 ft. at the rim. The Southern Paiute called Cedar Breaks u-map-wich, the place where the rocks are sliding down all of the time. The settlers thought the junipers there were cedars, and used breaks to describe the steep, heavily eroded terrain.

Journaling:
The objective for the day was to get from Green River, Utah to Mesquite, Nevada. We took a scenic route through Panguitch to Cedar Breaks Nat'l Monument. Remember the gorgeous aspens in reds and yellows along the way, and how we were cold up high and then it was 103 in Nevada.
I love "breaks" there is a portion in Kansas where my aunt lived and I always made a point to visit - love the description of the Cedar Breaks - love the framing and all the white space! I am loving these pages of from your trip!

This must have been a spectacular journey and now you are making it an artful memory... bravo!!
