Barley

My granddoggie Barley is going through a little rough patch right now.

Journaling: Barley has been a bit of a stinker. He had a small growth removed from his lower hip and proceeded to rip out the stitches the vet placed to close the wound. Back to the vet he went where the vet stapled the wound shut. He also ripped those out. Now he has to wear a cone until his wound heals completely, which he also managed to break. This isnt going to be easy for anyone, least of all Barley. I feel for him, but his family is just miffed with the whole ordeal. If he would only leave it alone to heal, life would be a lot easier for him.

Photos: Mine

Notes: Starting with artsy paper 1 and bringing in the two photos, I used a reverse mask on the large photo and brushed Barley back in with an AnnaBlendz brush. I duplicated the photo and blended with Screen. Bringing in the psd frame from the kit, I clipped the second photo to the mask, duplicated it also with the copy on Screen blend mode. Duplicated the photo once again, I clipped it to the frame and blended to Color Burn. I added a transfer partly over the first photo.

I created the title and used a style on it and stamped the word art underneath, taking a color from the palette. I pasted in the journaling. I stapled down the title, using staples from a template. The threads and button were added to the frame, along with the charm on the right side of the page.

Just above the background layer I put the dog stamp, blending to Linear Burn and reducing the opacity. And finally I added some splatters to the page.
Love his name and he is quite dapper in his cone of shame... I respect his independence but he does need to assimilate into his family's wishes... lol. Love your page. I recently lost my grand-dog,so I know how special they are.

Poor Barley! What an ordeal! But love your journaling and photos of him! Gorgeous!

The cone! How Charley hated that! My sympathies are with Barley. A wonderful layout, making art from the details of life. I especially like the illusion behind the top photo of the white sheep fleece...I don't know why it tickles my fancy, but it sure does. Sheep-ish, maybe?
