A quick-and-easy spread for my new travel album, using FotoInspired Templates.

Journaling: The Old Town, Gamla Stan, was a twisty-turny delight of cobblestone alleyways, majestic squares, good restaurants, and fascinating buildings, just the kind of landscape that we love. We enjoyed Vaporino, a pizza place with clip-your-own-basil after our tour with Hkan, and we indulged our delight in the Swedish custom of Fika (social coffee-break), whenever we could, for streetside people-watching but even in train stations when shuttling between stations. And if there was restaurant signage, we gravitated to it--so much to learn from local food customs. We visited The Vasa Museum, on the island of Djurgrden, on our last day, along with exploring Stockholms underground artways. The museum features an almost fully intact 17th-century warship that sank minutes after being launched on her maiden voyage in 1628. The thing about the Vasa--and why it sunk so quickly-- was that the plans had been modified from existing battleship schematics to be just a tiny bit narrower and a tiny bit taller. This raised the center of gravity just enough so that a few brisk breezes were able to slam this empire-building warship right onto its side. The ship was discovered--and salvage begun--in the 1950s, with the Museum opening in 1990. We greatly enjoyed our tour; afterward we rode the trolley to Skansen, an open-air folk museum, but when we got there...we were just not feeling it, despite the claim that there was a white-backed woodpecker in the zoo area. We have traveled enough to have learned to listen to our instincts and so we just moved on to other things. Very glad we did. --July 1, 2018
Sounds fantastic . Love the scenes captured and the insightful journaling!

Love the variety of photos of Stockholm from cuisine to architecture! Perfect title!

What a fun trip and I love the story about the re-engineering. I wouldn't have expected for Stockholm to be a go to place for pizza.

what a fun page, love the photos of those building - very interesting about the ship sinking - I love these templates! awesome page!
