This is a photo of my paternal grandfather and his family, dated 1914. It was taken in Key West, Florida, where the family lived, and is the only photo we have of my grandfather as a youth. He is in the center, back row and most unfortunately, the original photo has damage around his face. Oh well, it is what it is. The photo shows his father, sister (Cecilia) and mother in the front row. Back row, left to right, an unknown couple, my grandfather (Abraham) and his brother (Larry) about whom he never spoke. Apparently, Larry had a falling out with his family and he left home never to be heard from again. I love how all the men in the photo are smoking cigars. Grandpa would have been about 15 in this photo, so he probably wasnt old enough. Even with the damage to the photo, I can see my father in my grandfathers face, and my sister in Cecilias. So glad I have this photo of the Friedman family from so long ago. Journaling - August 5, 2018
