these are photos of black skimmers. they are one of my favorite birds - the bottom bill is significantly longer than the top bill so as they skim it facilitates fishing - they often fly in groups and in unison and it is so cool to watch them

Love the photos of this bird in action. The watercolor stains enhance the photos beautifully.

Gotta love that paint job and how they feed is interestin'g. They're the kind of bird we'll drive 500 miles to see.
