JOURNALING: In June, we attended the Hippodromes presentation of The Christians, a play designed to start conversations. The main character, the pastor of a large church that has just finished paying for a major renovation, delivers a sermon about salvation that divides his congregation; those divisions play out in a series of intense conversations between the pastor (Joseph Ditmyer) and his wife (Juliana Davis), a church elder (V Craig Heidenreich), a congregant (Renata Eastlick), and an associate pastor (Marquis D. Gibson).
