Using Anna's new Edinburgh brushes. This is one of those pages that has been on a long journey...and I'm now tired so the process, if i can remember it will have to wait until tomorrow...
I've used a photograph of myself when I was sixteen as this was when I spent a lot of my time in Edinburgh, Edinburgh was where I got my first Christmas job during the school holidays, lying to my parents that I had got a job locally as they wouldn't have allowed me to travel to Edinburgh every day in the winter - I confessed all at Christmas as I proudly gave them their Christmas presents all paid with my first ever wage!
Process:
I began with the label clipping masks as I knew from the outset that I wanted to use these; I clipped a paper to one and the photograph to another. These I positioned on the page with one of the Edinburgh brushes behind. At this stage I duplicated and started playing about with blending modes using hard light, overlay etc. also changing opacity. To introduce some colour I used different layers from Artsy Transfer roots and again played around with blending modes, some are color burn and some hard light. I layered the second of the Edinburgh brushes which gave me the horizontal vibe and framed with the paper transfers. Still not happy I layered a transfer from AP Scholarly behind everything and then on top of this layered more transfers to give me the bricks then repeated the roots layers on color mode to repeat the blue hue.
