The Great Grandfather on my husband's side, served in the Civil War, as well as his brother. After his service, he found a young lady he wanted to marry. To persuade the young lady's mother, he went into town to the local dry goods store and bought an entire bolt of calico fabric to give the mother. The young couple married. He was nicknamed "Calico Joe" (Joseph McCallister Cazzell)

Process:
Using the ALT as the base, stains, brushes, and the frame, were used, other elements were deleted. APP RootsArtsyPaper1 became the background, with APP Roots transfers 4,7, 12, 13, and a blended Roots ArtsyKardz were placed to enhance the page. Rotating the frame, two transfers were clipped to frames, and the feature photo of our familys Civil War veteran placed in the center. Trees No. 1 brush was stamped. The palette flower and button used, with threadz brushes to finish the page.
