Anything worth doing is worth overdoing!
This is my second attempt at making a page for the most recent AnnaLift (03/31/18 - 4/06/18). I am still bedeviled by how people are achieving their cool perspective effects on their photos! Me, I cheat. I don't transform the photo at all. I start with a simple rectangle frame. Then I use the "transform perspective" tool to, well, change the perspective of the frame. I put the transformed frame over a photo (the photo here is one I took of a sunset at Spanish Point on the Island of Bermuda) and then I mask out most of the photo so that the majority of the photo is contained within the transformed frame. Then I duplicate the photo and frame and move the duplicated set apart from the original photo and frame. Add some shadows and voil! A photo that looks like it has perspective!
I tried transforming actual photos with the perspective tool to see what that would look like, and I was able to change the perspective, but I also badly distorted the photo. Sigh. There is still something I am missing here. Back to the drawing board...
Oh, and the offer still holds: If you can point me to the tutorial about this (I hear there is one, but it could be nothing more than a myth, like the Holy Grail or the Fountain of Youth), I promise to name my next cat after you (but only if your name is something like Killmouskie or Mr. Fluffy Pants!)
