This is another wedding dress layout, documenting the Final Decision. We had narrowed the field to three when visiting my daughter in California, and the final cut was waiting on the input of her besties. Back here in New York, we waited impatiently for the news and were delighted to receive a text with these photos showing the final choice. We had loved all of the dresses, but this one most of all.
Photoshop Elements 14
This layout was one of those compositions that turned into a layer partyI had so many overlapping Fotoblendz and duplicate photos interacting with each other and the paints and stains on the template, with different blending modes, that it seemed that new stray hard edges and weird combinations were showing up every single time I looked. Consequently I employed layer masks to full advantage, but this required turning layers on and off in a laborious search to find the offending edges. Perhaps it is a Photoshop Elements thing that the layer stack can get really hard to organize, and I often find it hard to detect just where a problem lies. So shutting everything off and then turning all the layers back on, one by one, is sometimes the only thing that works for me.
I tweaked the template just a little bit, using Fotoblendz as mats under the photos. The background is Artsy Paper #1 and I recolored most of the stains and paint. I used the Warm Glows to accentuate BHLDN's lucite she said yes" sign, which was all but invisible in the original photo, as well as to enrich some of the darker areas in the layout. I finished up the layout with transfers and overlays, the big alpha, and quite a few of the Stitchez jumbled on top of each other, as well as the brushes from the Artplay Palette, and a few embellishments.
