Journaling reads: We hiked the lower Emerald Pool Trail to the Kayenta Trail reversed from how the ranger advised, and we were glad we did, as we got to enjoy downhill travel on the Kayenta rather than having to scramble up the loose rocks. The Emerald Pool is classic surrealism--an oasis in the desert. The way it works is that when rain and snow penetrate the rocks, the water erupts through the less porous formations, creating what are known as weeping walls full of maidenhair ferns and other greenery. As happened with the Birdseye Trail at Red Canyon, this loop was a bit more rugged than we are used to, given the elevation, but we persisted and felt accomplished at the end. We got some great views of the southern end of the canyon, looking past the Zion Lodge to Mount Moroni, with glimpses of the Watchman in the distance. Views like you usually see on postcards. Thats Angels Landing on the other side of the bridge over the Virgin River. At the end, we literally bounced over that bridge, with energy to spare. --Zion National Park 9/27/2017

Another spread for my current projecta travel album of our recent road trip in Utah and the Southwest. The templates worked very well with my photos so after plunking them in, I added the background papers (overlay blending mode) with some texture from the Artsy Transfers. It's sometimes a challenge to squeeze in all my stories, so I make sure to try to do the journaling toward the beginning of the process rather than at the end. The stitched leaves and other embellishments followed to finish things off.
ahhhhmazing photos and composition. thanks for the journaling too, adds so much to the design.
