The Process
I began by selecting a white paper with a slight texture from AP et Voila as the base of the page. The paper was duplicated and clipped to a 8x8 square. A custom shadow was added behind the square. Using the striped paper from AP Girl Craze I created a template for the red stripes. Using the magic wand tool and highlighting the stripes I got an outline with the dancing ants. The paper layer was turned off and a new layer was created. Next using a spray paint brush, the red stripes were painted onto the 8x8 paper. Next I worked with the photo, which I scanned from an album cover. It was extracted and placed on the page. Using the tutorial from AnnaBlendz 4 Inverted Masking, the image was brushed back in. The flags were drawn by using the polygon lasso tool, filled with black and papers from AP Red White Blue were clipped to the shapes. A custom shadow was added behind the shapes. For the blue stars I used the star in the custom tool shape box. The star was converted to a brush using the brush preset setting in the Edit menu bar. Using the scatter function in the brush preset the star was stamped around the page in black. I erased areas that I didnt like. Again a template was created (like the stripes) and using the spray paint brush, blue was painted in. Elements, a skinny line overlay and stitching were added to finish the page.
Thanks for looking.
