Created for the Day 9 Artist Trading Card Challenge

The Joy to the World background was created by placing a blue patterned paper above the brown artsy paper and used the Underlying Layer Slider in Photoshop to change the amount of paper shown.

For the Merry Christmas background, I placed a white snowflake patterned paper above the dark red background paper and set the Blend Mode to Linear Burn.
