Challenge #1 My Birthstone is a Feather

Even less birds on Wednesday at MVNWR, and we decided not to come back next year if the drought map still shows the county in extreme drought. We were glad to see a few avocets, and there was evidence a predator had taken a large bird. A coyote could easily wade into such shallow water and get a meal.

Lovely reflection on the right and a nice way to introduce the feather. I'm never happy to find a trail of feathers in the yard.

The feather photo's placement feels like a tribute...I get a little bent out of shape when hawks strike songbirds at my feeder but I am learning to breathe deeply. Nature's way. Loving the different framing techniques you used for the avocets. Very inventive and so visually appealing. The climate change creates havoc--we've had a neotropic cormorant hanging out here on the Hudson for the last few weeks, go figure.

Just an amazing composition, I too love the framing of the birds on the right. Fun thought on the feather :)

fabulous double page spread of the sea birds
