Testing out a visual journaling technique I just learned about. I'd be careful with this one because posted in a public forum it can reveal stuff you might want to keep private, but there are of course ways to hide that stuff. You take what the presenter called a "platitude" (in this case a quotation from the movie Cars that I already knew I didn't fully agree with) and put it on a horizontal line. Pick out a few words (which don't need to be "big" words) that strike you. Above the line write "positives" that the words inspire and below the line write "negatives" (the definitions of positives and negatives are loose). See what you think about the "platitude" after you've come up with the word associations. Or maybe something that has nothing to do with the platitude comes to mind.
