Moving right along on this year's family vacation album, this spread is about taking the whole gang out to one of my favorite places—Monomoy Island—to look for seals. My husband and I have hiked this area shore-side and have seen lots of seals from the land, and I've rowed around in a dinghy, but this was the first time I've been out in a shallow-draft motor craft to get close to a substantial haul-out of seals, featured on the next spread.
Nothing fancy in this design, although I did clip the extraction to a torn piece of paper to disguise the awkward straight bottom of the photo. The challenge in this layout was placing the photos for color balance and in color-coordinating everything. Finally I settled on a mint color paint from my daughter's and grandson's hats, which (strangely, I thought) worked to tie things together. I supplemented this with a blue ArtsyKard for a mat and transfers and a paper from the Crazy Life APP as background.
