Cape Escape 02-03

First spread in the family vacation album. I have over 700 photos from all family members in the online shared album and my goal is simple: To use as many photos as I can to recreate the trip in everybody's imagination. This is Fotoinspired--I had to tweak sizing of the various masks and frames but it all worked out, though because I work on an old laptop with an old version of Elements, it can be slow going. I used an Artsy Transfer on the right-hand page to carry the blue across the page, and also placed one on the left-hand page for some texture. I used straight stitching to separate photos at the centerline.
This is so fun!!! I love the photo heavy layout. The photo of Jack Daniels is so funny as it is peaking out and looked like you were tucking the drink in for later. So fun.

700 photos - my goodness.
You've really set yourself a challenging task.
It would be very difficult for me to put so many photos together in an album without losing the common thread.
Good luck and chapeau.

LOL, yes, always carry adult beverages on family vacation! When I placed that photo on the page with the kids, I actually was remembering how nice it is after several full days with the little angels to have a nip or two in the evening.

Ha! Yes, but the beauty is that the only thread I have to weave is actually already woven for me--it's the sense of place that everybody being together on a trip provides. Each family member provides a different perspective in their photos, but all the perspectives fit together like a great big puzzle. All I have to do is juggle the photos into some sort of order and make sure to tell the story. It's the storytelling that's the heart of this for me.

I agree with you. Nevertheless, I find it a very challenging job, but I am sure that you will master it with flying colours.

This is such a fantastic thing you do every year. You're off to a great start and it looks like a swell time for all.

I agree, what a yearly fun thing involving the whole family. We do something similar and I hold the memories close to my heart. Love your stitching technique.
