Cape Escape 012-013

I had stuffed this spread so full of photos during the batching process that when it came time to finish up the batch, I was quite at a loss to add a title. So I did something I rarely do—intruded upon a photo. The problem was that the wordART, little tag, and jewel faded into the sunsetting sky. To make it pop, I used an AnnaBlendz Artsy Brush in dark gray underneath the whole assemblage and blended it on color burn blend mode. All of a sudden...there was the little pop I needed. The difference in tonality of dark/light across the spread is somewhat inevitable with sunset photos, but I always fear oversaturation in printing, so I have that on my list to tinker with before printing. For now...moving onward!

Such fun photos. Looks like everyone was having a blast. I love how you added the title jewel and thank you for explaining how you made it pop! I still have so much to learn about what the scrapping programs will do and how it is done on layouts. Thank you, this helps. Wonderful layout and I love the sunny background.

You are on fire with your batching project! These are great photos of fun times with special people. I especially love the photo of all the adults lined up in chairs after the kids are tucked in. That is a great view for adult stories, plans and reflections. You are going to have a fantastic book.

I also love the photo of the adults raising their glasses, and all the scenic photos, they are gorgeous! Loving reading your process notes. It's interesting to see how others handle the little problems.

Thanks! I know what you mean about there being so much to learn. I use an ancient version of Elements and I still have to look stuff up and no way am I taking advantage of all the possibilities within the program. Trial and error is my good friend!

Thanks! It's definitely coming along very quickly. I'm finding it a lot less stressful to get the story down first, and then deal with all the artistic touches that I love (and which always seem to take me a long time) later.
