Last spring I saw this leaf laying face down having taken on the same color and texture as the concrete and I had to take a photo. It was almost like it didnt want to be seen at all. Maybe it was weary, having just gone through a very cold winter.

Process Notes: I placed the photo on top of the chosen paper from the palette, used the rectangle tool and made a square around the leaf and made a copy of it, placing it above the original photo and creating a drop shadow to make it pop a little. Then clipping the original photo to a layer underneath, I used a AnnaBlendz brush to bring out some of the concrete out from under the square copy of the photo. I duplicated the copy of the photo and put it on Color Burn at 14% opacity, which made the leaf more visible.
Underneath the photo layers, I used the Remarkable transfers, deleting the layers I didnt want and turning down the opacity of the layers I used. The Sojourn ticket was put under the photo layers to peak out on the left side. I also used transfers and overlays from the Palette, placing them to the top right of the photo. I also used a tissue and a tape, placing the latter over the right edge of the photo to add texture.
I duplicated the original photo, putting it in the bottom right corner of the layout and using a reverse mask I brought out the leaf and stem and a bit of the concrete, putting it on Multiply blend mode, which made it take on the paper color.
Using the branch from the Palette and duplicating it, I crossed them and put a couple of the button threads to hold it in place to frame the photo. From there I created the title, using a brush to color it the greens from the branches. I also used a Blendz brush to bring some of the green down on the bottom right corner next to the leaf over the word art which is at 65% opacity.
I used the pen and tablet on this layout, printing spring 2015 and placing it at one of the branches to the right of the threads. I signed the layout on the bottom right. And I think that just about covers it.
