Journaling:
Monday night we changed time zones. We didn't know that it would be the first of three consecutive nights of clock changes. Since I had my phone on airplane mode on the ship to avoid extra charges, I didn't know what time it was, and we lollygagged around for a while thinking we had an extra hour. Regardless, since the ship didn't dock at Cádiz until noon Tuesday we had plenty of time to enjoy the ship's luxuries.
Our Cádiz excursion started with a selection of wine and tapas at a local cafe. As we waited our turn to go in, I enjoyed looking at the beautiful city plaza and the subtropical plantings. We had plenty to eat and drink, so then we tried to work it off with a walk around the old part of the city. It has been an important port since the time of the Phoenicians, but, of course, the oldest layers we can still see are mostly from about the 13th century.
