One of my family's annual "Rites of Spring". Each year we buy a cupful of caterpillars and watch them morph into butterflies over the next few weeks. (If you've never done it I'd strongly suggest it)! Nigel's come to set his clock by it. Each year when he feels that first warm breeze at the end of March he starts to ask, "Are we getting our caterpillars yet"? This year Nigel asked to involve the neighborhood kids. Every time we've released the butterflies at least one of them decides to make our neighborhood it's home and we'll see him flutter by from time to time throughout the summer. Nigel asks me "How do caterpillars turn into butterflies"? The best answer I can give him is "It's Magic"!
