Sophia took this photo of Autumn running up a snowy slope towards the barn at their Grandpa Terrys farm. I wanted to create a hint of spring while still maintaining some reality of snow still on the ground. I was going to use the photo as is because it is a good one, but it morphed into something else during the process of creating this page.

Process Notes: Opening a 12 x 12 file bringing in the photo and resizing it, I brought in several of the papers to test out as a background when the idea of just keeping Autumn, her shadow on the snow and the barn in the photo. Using a layer mask and a couple of the AnnaBlendz brushes, I got rid of the rest of the photo. I decided artsy paper 1 was the best fit. I duplicated the photo and used the Poster Edges filter on the copy and used the Screen blend mode on it.
Using a countryside brush, I positioned it next to the barn, recoloring and blending to Darker Color. From there I brought in several transfers under the photo and blending some and of course over the photo and blending those also. That gave the barn a little extra texture. All are from the Moorlands palette except for the blue sky, which I took from APP Mountain High.
The word art was used as a title and another placed on the barn. I used a sticker style on the title. Then using the tape brush from the palette, recoloring and using a Brightness/Contrast adjustment layer to represent the snow on the ground.
I loved the little twig with the hint of spring and positioned it on the left edge. Then the idea came to me to use the torn edge template and clipped and repositioned what needed to be adjusted and brought in the green solid paper 3 underneath it in the layers panel. I added brushes from the palette, word art, the artist edges for the scribble under the template and the clover, button and threads over the template. And I do believe that completed this page.
