Inspiration – every time I attend one of Anna’s Sessions where she shows how various people make their pages I try to draw inspiration for my work. I still hyperventilate when I start to get a lot of layers but trying new things is helping my process. Also as I put the page together I thought about how sometimes the black cat becomes the hunter.

Start – Create New File (New>File 12-12-300)

Paper – I placed Solid Paper 2 over the background

Mask – I used Starry Fotoblendz 4 but I grouped together with the 3 bottom layers

Photo – I put the photo above the grouped layers and attached using Layer>Create Clipping Mask. The witch was added after the transfers but required a lot of playing. Made two copies and grouped using screen and soft light blending modes. Then used Luminosity for the group. Duplicated the group and changed the blending mode to color burn.

Transfers – Transfer 4 I placed in the upper right corner, overlay 1 on the left edge, and Artsy Transfer 2 was also placed on the left edge – this gave a diagonal look to my design. I accidentally got the transfers inside the mask group but liked the look so left it.

Elements – took MultiMedia Branch 15.4 and aligned with the arm of the witch. Added a fotoglow in pink (so I would have a visual triangle of pink) and made three copies of the bats (also for a visual triangle) varying the sizes and the angles. Copied the star splatter from the mask and moved it again for the visual triangle look.

Words – used a word transfer to help contain the cat photo, and the word art “A little ray of BlacK Pitch” for the title to with a yellowish stroke after I inverted so it would be white.
