Journaling reads:
'This picture reminds me of summers in Betsy. I got spoiled when I got to stay at the camp with Grandma and Grandpa for a week or two each summer. I can remember so many details and picture being there. I woke up each morning to a fire crackling in the wood stove and Grandma doing word search or fill-in puzzles listening to Jan Tucker on the radio. Grandpa usually left before I got up to go work in the woods. For breakfast I got to pick out my own individual box of cereal, usually Trix, Lucky Charms or some other sugary kind that we never had at home. After breakfast Id putter around outside picking up twigs, playing on the beach, pump water from the well to fill the water cooler, sweep the mats. Grandma and I would have lunch together and then wed go for a walk on the beach down to the guardrail and back, picking beach glass along the way. Id play on the beach and swim in the afternoon when Grandma prepared supper for when Grandpa got back. I would tell her that it was like having Sunday dinner every day because I always liked what she made, especially ham with pineapple. Doing dishes with Grandma afterwards was actually fun. Maybe because I didnt have to help...or because it was a novelty to have to boil water in the tea kettle. After supper Grandpa and I would build a bonfire and sit there for hours. He told stories, wed roast marshmallows, listen to the waves, and look at the stars. After sauna wed have snacks, and I got to have my own can of pop. When I couldnt keep my eyes open any more, Id crawl in bed knowing the next day would be more of the same. Except for Sundays. On Sundays Id walk to the guardrail with Grandpa in the morning while Grandma made lunch. No matter what day it was, it was bound to be the best day. Thank you Grandma and Grandpa for the best summer days!'

Thanks for looking! ~Greta
