"Since 1954, Bertha Burke, now 97, has been landscaping the alley next to her home in Richmond, VA. Over the years, the splendor of the alley grew into an urban garden masterpiece due to her kind attention, devotion and constant loving care.
On February 25, 2013, the city council approved the motion to officially name the alley Berthas Country Lane. It is so beautiful that couples often take wedding photos there and many people go out of their way just to stroll down the lane and drink-in its lovely splendor."
