The coexistence of War and Peace as well as Classic and Modern
can be found everywhere in the country.
The Martyrs' Square and its bullet ridden central statue was definitely quite a sight.
It also has an amazing history that can make you go wow.
I love the classically decorated streets of downtown Beirut,
the Nejme square with its Rolex clock tower,
but not so much the pricey modern products sold there.
Real Roman ruins are still standing within a walking distance
of high-end stores. And in between those,
one small battered mailbox awaited quietly.
In all the time I was in Lebanon, I never saw a postman, though.
