In May 2000, when my oldest Granddaughter Autumn was 2 years old, she saw the Pacific Ocean for the first time. It was kind of a big scary, noisy thing. Not exactly sure what to make of this strange place, staying close to Daddy made it okay to take a closer look. A new adventure!

Process Notes: After opening a new 12 x 12 document, I placed three fotoblendz, one for each photo, on the page. After clipping each photo to a different mask, I resized and repositioned each set until I was happy with it. I wanted each of the three horizon lines in the photos to line up to make one long horizon. I duplicated a couple of the photos and used blending modes on them.
I experimented with the papers from the kit and blended 4 papers together, using adjustment layers masking away some colored textures that came through that were blemishing the large photo, and a gradient on one to get the sandy paper to show and leave the light color of another paper at the top. Sometimes it takes a bit of fiddling around to get what you want, but its worth it. All of this was underneath the masked photos.
I added brushes from the kit for texture in the washed out sky and in the sand below Autumns feet in the large photo. Over a part of the brush I placed the psd MultiMedia Shell, blending the stain. I duplicated the pebbles of the multimedia and placed it to extend the brush.
After adding the title, I used the blend ifs to bring out some of the background through the letters. I also added word art in the reflection of the right hand photo and blended those in and used a reduced opacity. Adding a cool glow to the left side photo gave it a little misty look I liked. Just above the papers in the layers panel, I added an overlay.
And to finish off the layout I added the shell and a small drop shadow, duplicated the thread from the multimedia and placed it underneath after resizing and rotating. That completes this layout of Autumn and son-in-law Joel on the Oregon Coast.
