This is a riff on Barbara's blending mode tutorial on the aA blog, using her steps, most of her supplies (I substituted the Mod Grunge 2 Fotoblendz set for the ones Barbara used), her placement of things on the page, and (almost exclusively) the difference and exclusion blending modes rather than the ones noted in the tutorial. Knowing nothing about these modes except that I don't use them, I was eager to see what would result. I was definitely NOT expecting how these modes changed the reds and yellows to dark blues and turquoise.

In the spirit of experimentation and proceeding with a non-outcome-based frame of mind, which Barbara talks about in the tutorial, I challenged myself to start out with some unlikely photos in my files, photos that wouldn't snag me into preconceived notions of memory-keepingnamely, two pictures documenting how I bleached my daughter's partner's denim jacket.
From there I just went with whatever happened. In conclusion, I have to say I agree with Barbara. Going with the flow can definitely be a hoot!
