What first struck me was the orange...I love orange. It's one of the colors of my SF Giants, and the bikes of Biketown (bikes provided by Nike in Portland). Then I liked the slant, and that black block on the side reminded me of an old fashioned camera, available in this weeks ArtPlay Festal.

I extracted pieces of the art itself to use in the composition.

500+ pages! Congratulations to you! I'm up there, too, with all 3 fat "special events" books--each on a different topic--printed and ready to wrap for Christmas. for my kids. That tilt in the original painting grabbed me, too, and I love how you extended it over the spread. Cool that you worked in that light blue drip, too, and the texture is gorgeous!

Such a fun spread. The orange captures the energy in the photos. Love the big photo in orange and how it adds shape and dimension as well. Love it.
