i chose this template because of the dot overlay, even though i eventually turned off that layer. i clipped my photo to most of the template layers and recolored the other layers. i extracted the chalk from my photo and made it look like a sticker. the sticker is placed over the actual chalk image in the photo. then, i added the other images and tried to make them look more chalk-like by making them thicker then, using a layer mask, i stamped over the images with a grungy looking ps brush. it removed some of the color hopefully making things like "BEN" look more like they were chalked onto the page. i added two warm glows under the sun so that the light would look like it was shining on the chalk.
