The story of my parents.
My parents met each other in our Lemmer when they were 15 and 16 years old, Mom born Nov.1931- Dad born in Sept.1930 , and got married in November 1951 when our mother was 18, almost 19, and our father just 21 years old.
"" The funny part is , my dad's naam was Piet Koehoorn, my mom's naam was Pietje Coehoorn , and I found out in the Heritage tree they had the same ancestry father ,guess somewhere in the early years they made a mistake by the letter K and C by birth . ""
They had 10 children, 4 boys and 6 girls; unfortunately, 1 boy passed away when he was almost 1 year old due to meningitis. I am child number 5. My parents were married for 69 years; my mother passed away in January 2021 when she was 88 years old, and my father in May 2022 when he was 91 years old. Unfortunately, our sister Aukje also passed away in November 2022 due to a brain tumor; she was only 63 years old. Here in the large photo are my parents in the 1960s at a wedding, and in the small one when they were about 10-11 years old, both school photos.
