Journaling:
We took a short hike in the forest while we waited for the visitors center to open. We enjoyed some Mexican jays that stayed nearby for a while. One jay was close but I squatted nearby anyway and he didn't fly away.

Jay fan here...they're such an intelligent bird, and we have dozens doing the cache thing from the feeders. I love to watch them and they're surprisingly unshakable...a bit like your Mexican jay. Surprised to see the lack of a crest on this guy though--SO much to learn about birds! Beautiful spread, thanks for sharing the bird love!
