AnnaLift 11.1.14 - 11.7.14 - Hammerfest Norway

It's the world's most northerly town first settled in the 9th century. First town in Europe to install street lights. Destroyed by a hurricane back in the 1800s and then again during WW2. It's a very busy port and the natural harbour remains ice free because of the Gulf stream. Apparently the brightly coloured houses are painted every year because of the extreme weather conditions.

Thanks for looking!
Love the texture and color. What a pain that would be to have to paint your house every year.

fantastic lift. love the focus on the photo and the pretty red splatters supporting the story about the every year house painting.

It's beautiful. Love all in this page. (At least the trade deficit is not paintings).

I love the colors and I liked hearing about Norway through your page - gorgeous page

I loved reading what you wrote about this city, love the bright colors of the homes, very effective use of color!

love how this is blended into the background, and just blends so perfectly with the textures.
