These are wonderful sculptures and have a fabulous new home. The journaling reads:
Outside the Cleveland Museum of Natural History the reinstalled Viktor Schreckengost mammoth and mastodon sculptures, once beloved fixtures at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo, now create a welcome to the museum and University Circle. The relief sculptures were part of a series of extinct species for zoo buildings. These graced the pachyderm building but went into storage when it was replaced in 2008. The museum's ribbon cutting was Friday, but landscaping is still to come.
