When I was a young girl,I used to spend a lot of time on the dock and near the water. I was raised on a lake and many of my youthful memories are focused on the experiences that I had there. I remember when the season changed and the warm fun of summer turned into the colorful autumn season. We had many hickory trees surrounding our property ,so the scent of burning leaves takes me to that time. The waters became colder and sort of pushed you back to other activities, like raking, bonfires,long walks, and brisk winds.I often sat on the dock and dreamed about the future, the present and all those things that young girls do. Autumn cannot arrive for me without these warm memories.
