We used to love Buena Vista, but over the years the rafters took over and the place became a zoo for months on end. We stayed away long before it was declared a National Monument. Rafting had just barely opened up. We thought it would be a good time to visit.

Beautiful area. My son was a white water rafting guide for years. He mostly did the Colorado and Green rivers. Wonderful colors!

It's all in the timing...and in the early morning arrival. This spread amplifies my longing for the road. I didn't appreciate the ease with which we moved around the world until it was no longer possible for us. A valuable lesson there, and in the meantime, it's good to remember!

I just moved away from an area where rafters are spoiling the environment and know exactly what you're talking about. The place I lived very much liked like your beautiful spread.
