Photo I took several years ago on campus photo walk. Opened and entered these doors many times in the early 1970s.

In 1895, the Missouri State Senate defeated
a bill that requested a chair of journalism
be established at the University of Missouri.
Following lobbying by Walter Williams,
the editor of the Columbia Herald,
and at the urging of Joseph Pulitzer,
the school opened on September 14, 1908.

The University of Missouri School of Journalism,
Columbia, Missouri, has the distinction of being the
oldest formal journalism school in the world.
