I have used a number transfer here from the artplay Palette Knowledge and from the artplay Palette Shine.
Also I used a number of glows have that been treated with a "color burn" blending mode and place behind the focal images.
The transfer were treated with the luminosity blending mode and reduced on opacity or duplicated on intensity by duplicating the layer.
I also added a number of shadows and book textures elements to create the feeling of the central book.
