A little different? Two things I wanted to capture - a photo of the corner of my room taken from my bed, the sun shining through the blinds, and my rock and shell "painting" i made as a tribute to the whale that died on my beach.
The photo said STRIPES - used a black & white striped paper from ArtPlay Anew, reduced the size of the stripes, duplicated the paper for coverage, then lined it up with the photo stripes, Color Burn mode, on top of a combination of Solid and Artsy papers from Surfs Up.
Used frames from FotoInspired 3H for my painting photo.
Played with a lot of Transfers and elements. I know the journaling is hard to read against the stripes, but believe it or not, I do this on purpose - I want my family to struggle a bit to read this (quirk? maybe). I'll include it here,
I like it when I see the stripes on the wall in the morning, it means the sun is up. It’s just plain easier to start the day when it’s sunny. I will admit this August has been hot. Hotter than last year - is it the weather or the location? Hard to know, but perhaps a little bit of both. We’ve seen temperatures hit 80 degrees this week. Yes, we have air conditioning, but I don’t like conditioned air, preferring the moist sea air. With my door always open, I get to feel like I’m living outside.
Moved by the whale, and even more by the plethora of shells and rocks that appeared with the whale (and as soon as the whale was gone, the shells likewise disappeared - tell me that’s not cosmic),
I painted a picture on a scrap of fence material from the construction next door, the found paints, and the found rocks and shells and glass. It’s the whale’s last breath between the setting of the sun and the rising of the moon.
Go ahead and laugh at it ... I enjoyed doing it and I’m kinda proud of it.
