Inspiration – I liked the multimedia frame when I saw it on FB on someone’s page and then I saw the pipe. My father smoked a pipe sometimes and I knew I had a picture of him with a pipe. My page began to take shape.
Start-File>New 12x12 300.
Paper – Placed Solid Paper1 above the background Layer and reduced the opacity to 95% after the page was done so the paper sunk more into the background and let the frame and pictures shine out front.
Frame – Used Multimedia Frame 1. I removed the buttons and paper clip and added the string and the clip.
Photos – I put a picture of my father with the Pipe in the bottom frame, I grouped the next two masks and attached a picture taken at the same time of my father and mother letting the sky fill up the second mask area. And I attached text paper 1 to the last mask.
Transfer – First I placed Artsy transfer 5 on the left side and I took one of the layers and pulled it so it touches the right side. Put Overlayed Pattern 1 over one of the oval parts of the Artsy transfer. I changed the color by filling it with color at normal mode and then using Ctrl U so the color popped. I then added Overlay Pattern 2 and moved till I thought I found a place where it worked.
Elements – placed the pipe on the frame and then created smoke. I drew strokes on separate layers in different grays and then clicked on all the layers and created a smart object. I applied a Maximum filter and a gaussian blur filter.
Element Cluster title - I used wordart “Good Man!” with glasses, white flower, and the clip I replaced on the frame. I placed the masks of the glasses under the word art, so I looked like it was being seen through the glasses. I moved a white paint layer from the artsy layered transfer, so it sort of framed the title.
I typed “My Dad” on the frame.
