aA Inspiration Challenge: Pieces of Picasso

As a kid I thought "artists" had the best jobthey could play all day with artsy stuff and get paid for it. Since I grew up in a Chicago suburb, the Art Institute was my favorite museum to visit. I was fascinated by Picasso, even at a young age. And the Art Institute has plenty of Picasso's to study. I still am fascinated not only by his works, but also by his evolving styles. He was simply a master.

More info, if you're interested.
in 1913, the Art Institute of Chicago became the first art museum in the country to present the work of a young Spaniard who would become the preeminent artist of the 20th century, Pablo Picasso.

After first showing artworks by Picasso in the 1913 Armory Show, the museum began collecting his works in the early 1920s with two figural drawings, Study of a Seated Man (1905) and Sketches of a Young Woman and a Man (1904/05); in 1926 the museum welcomed The Old Guitarist (late 1903early 1904) as a generous gift of Frederic Clay and Helen Birch Bartlett. Over time, the collection has expanded to include paintings such as the classically inspired Mother and Child (1921) and the surrealist Red Armchair (1931); landmark sculptures including the Cubist Head of a Woman (Fernande) (1909) and a maquette for Picasso's largest three-dimensional work, Monument for Richard J. Daley Plaza (1965); and works on paper such as Woman Washing Her Feet (1944) and impressions of The Frugal Meal (1904), one of only three examples in the world of the famous Blue Period etching actually printed in blue ink.

Process notes:
Such a fun challenge! I artplayed the dickens out of this one, so Ill just give you the highlights. I opened artsy template No. 1 and placed artsy paper No. 2 from APP Quaintville. Duplicated it several times and applied blend mode of multiply. I placed my large photo, clipped it to all the stain layers and flattened all these layers. I then clipped fotoBlendz overlay No. 2 to that layer. I enlarged the three template masks and clipped more photos to them. On the left side, I placed one on top of each other to create a composite body. I moved the other masked photo under the big photo; again to create a body image. On the legs photo, I added an adjustment layer to color it black and white. I removed three frames and added drop shadows. I used several transfers behind and over the main photo using a variety of blend modes to add depth and dimension. A bunch of artstrokes were finishing touches. And I used a Layered Edge Overlay to define the design. I created wordArt using text and a png of Picassos signature as the final touch.

Thanks for looking.
