Process:
Placed frame and clipped in photo, one layer processed for vintage "antique plate", and on top of that hard light 50% original image. Placed ArtsyKards behind photo and scaled to fit page and set several layers to hidden. Added tape, button, charm and artstroke transfer. Added simple color brushstrokes on a layer set to Overlay.
Journaling:
Hotel Colorado was one of the very first hotels in the world to have electric lights throughout. In the courtyard there were 2,000 rose bushes and a fountain that shot water 185 feet in the air. While rooms at other hotels in town went for fifty cents a night, it was three dollars a night on the first two floors. Higher floors were hotter, so slightly less expensive, but still out of reach for all but the wealthy. Guests made the trip to the resort over Independence Pass in the warm months.
