process...
i opened the layers of the template and dragged them all to a new page. turned off the frame layers and played with the paint and texture, clipping parts of my photo to some of these layers. i used only one of the frames, which was resized and repositioned. i worked on the clusters using the elements from the new app (the bow's been recolored), then added the wood alpha and wordart. the light leaks were added over the photo to give it some color and help with the flow across the page. a little unfocused journaling and it was done.
