You were only 15 months old and it was heartbreaking to look in your eyes and see the sorrow you felt. A few hours after you came to us, youe grabbed hold of your dad's hand and held for life - and you didn't let go until you had grown accustomed to your new life, the new smells, the new language, your new family and your new country. And it took a few weeks.
You hated me, couldn't stand the sight of me or my touch - so it was HARD, but I'm just happy you found someone you could trust in your dad. In the back of my head I knew you would eventually at least tolerate me, and this transition was definitely much more difficult for you than for us so we just let you take your time and move through it at your own pace.
Today, you are a happy carefree 8 year old who loves mommy's cuddles and kisses. I love you!
