one of those "hundred little moments"...

journaling reads: I look at photos of my grandparents and I long to know the story. not just the when and the where, but the deeper story: the feelings, the hopes, the fears...the details. There is so much beauty in the every day and in the details. The kinds of things that get missed or cluttered into darkness in our memories. The adorable little outfit you used to wear, the way you would clutch any flower you could get your hands on, that hopeful inquisitive look in your eye as you just spent time learning and exploring. Those are the details I want to remember. Those are the details I think you will be happy to look back on. And so today, I scrapbook. But I am more than just a scrapbooker. I am a storyteller. I am my familys own historian. I am sharing all the little stories and emotions-- the personalities and the heart of the people who live in our photographs. Of us. Preserving this story, this legacy...it is like a love song from my heart to my family, both today and tomorrow. Because our story is the greatest story to us. It is colored with our values and our feelings and a hundred little moments that matter to us. A hundred little details that may otherwise fade away into memory, if it werent for the storyteller.
