Journaling:
Sometimes I look at the pictures Ive taken and they just dont quite convey the beauty, the specialness. On each side of the bridge over the Stanislaus River were stairways going down to the river, enabling easy access over the rocks to the river. We saw fisherman there one day. The river was probably low, judging by the swept debris we saw as we scrambled along the banks, but to us, used to such dryness, this seemed a massive amount of water, rushing, tumbling, carving the stones, then settling down in the open areas. It was a cloudy day, this the colors are subdued. And pictures cannot capture the rushing sound of the water, the chirping of the birds, the winds rustling the new leaves on the trees. It was a beautiful spot, here on the river, and we spent quite a bit of time enjoying it.
